Forum seeks release of Janashakti activist

HYDERABAD: The Human Rights Forum on Sunday alleged that Padma alias Aruna of the CPI (ML) Janashakti along with three of her relatives were arrested by the police at Kothapet on Saturday.

In a statement here, K. Balagopal and S. Jeevan Kumar of the forum said the matter was brought to their attention by Padma's relatives. They demanded that she be presented before court and the others released.

They sought immediate intervention of Home Minister Jana Reddy on the issue.
