HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has given an interim order banning Coca Cola and Pepsico drinks in all educational institutions, both private and Government. The orders were issued by the SHRC, headed by Justice B. Subhashan Reddy, pending further inquiry on August 17 when the Commissioner, Civil Supplies, and the managements of the two soft drink companies were asked to appear before it. The Commissioner was asked to implement the order with immediate effect. The Director of Institute of Preventive Medicine has said that it was decided to direct all Government educational institutions not to allow the sale in their premises. The directions were given following a meeting Finance and Health Minister, K. Rosaiah, had with him and Secretaries, Health and Law.
