KORAPUT: Six youths of Jeypore in Koraput district have threatened to launch an indefinite hunger strike from Tuesday if no action was taken to provide basic needs to the downtrodden villagers in the district. In a memorandum to Koraput District Collector Probin Raj, Mojesh Kumar Takri, Jalendra, Joseph Onka, Birendra Oraon and Syam Panigrahi, said that they had been representing the problems of the poor like right to food, clothing and shelter for people below poverty line, old age pensions and Antyodaya Annapurna Yojanana for the past several years. They gave a long list indicating 56 problems encountered by the people in Jeypore and sought an early action. They threatened to launch an indefinite hunger strike from Tuesday, if their demands were not met.
