Toppers honoured

The Sterlite Industries Limited felicitated honoured district toppers in the SSLC and Standard XII examinations held this year, at a function in Tuticorin recently.

The Superintendent of Police, John Nicholson, gave away a cash award of Rs 3,000 each to V. Vijitha (Holy Cross Higher Secondary School) and Ignatius Joel Deepthi (SPIC Nagar Higher Secondary School), who came first in the Std XII and SSLC examinations respectively. The students who secured second place received Rs.2,000 each and those who came third got Rs.1,500.He also gave away prizes to winners of environment competitions conducted by company recently.
