Countdown machines

Timers installed at major junctions along with the traffic signals are a blessing for motorists and pedestrians alike. The digital clocks enable the road users, especially motorists, to know the exact duration of the signal before proceeding ahead. Since they act as countdown machines, the motorists can easily cross over the busy junctions without any panic till the digital clock displays `zero.' Pedestrians also found it convenient to cross the road. However, the timers are missing in busy junctions like Kowdiar, Pattoor, and Keltron junction where traffic signals powered by solar panels were installed after road widening works and junction improvement.
