ERODE: Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) will soon introduce new facilities for textile garment exporters, said Assistant General Manager R. Venkataramana at an exporters' meet arranged by the bank here on Monday. He said the bank, started 90 years ago with Rs. 1 lakh, now had a total business of Rs. 871 crore. Soon it would reach Rs. 1,000-crore mark. General Manager R. Ramalingam said the bank would soon introduce `Exchange Rate Alerts' through mobile phones. It would send the market rate of US dollar once in two hours to help the exporters.

He said the exchange rates of leading currencies through e-mail on an hourly basis would also be announced soon. Another Assistant General Manager V. Palanisamy spoke about the offers and concessions given for the exporters. Chief Manager of the bank S. Nagarajan also spoke. On behalf of the Textile Garment Exporters Association, its president Subramaniam and secretary S. Sivananthan, managing directors of Sakthi Masala P.C. Duraisamy and Santhi Duraisamy and chairman of the Erode Eco Textile Processors Park A. Muthusamy spoke.
