Staff Reporter

CHENNAI : Former Law Minister D. Jayakumar's brother Rajkumar was found hanging in his house on Tuesday afternoon. He was declared dead at a private hospital here.

Rajdkumar was residing with wife, Sarojini, and two daughters on Vinayagapuram Main Road at Tondiarpet.

Police sources said that the cause of the suspected suicide is not known. No note has been found so far.

Rajkumar, 43, was unemployed and the police said this might have been a reason.

He hung himself with his wife's sari at around 3.30 p.m. and was found by his family some two hours later.

The body was taken to a private hospital before being sent to Stanley Hospital for post-mortem.

Besides Mr. Jayakumar, who is currently the AIADMK State secretary, he had another brother and two sisters.

Former Chief Minister and opposition leader Jayalalithaa has expressed her condolences to Mr. Jayakumar and the bereaved family.
