Bangalore: The Talaghattapura Police on Tuesday arrested two persons on charges of murdering a youth. On Sunday, Giriappa filed a complaint alleging that his son Manju (22) had been kidnapped. Based on the complaint, the police arrested Vikram and Govardhan. During interrogation, the two reportedly confessed to have taken Manju to a wooded area and murdering him. Police said that the two allegedly smashed Manju's head with a stone and dumped the body in Vajramuneshwara Temple Forest.
Man waylaid, robbed
Miscreants allegedly waylaid and robbed Arun Kumar of Rs. 3,000 at knife-point on Monday. In his complaint to police, Kumar claimed that the incident occurred when he was walking along Raja Mill Road. The Malleswaram police have registered a case.
Two killed in accidents
Suma Gogate, an employee of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation's rural division, was killed on Tuesday when a tipper lorry ran over her at BHEL Junction on Mysore Road in Byatarayanapura Station limits. Police said the lorry hit the two-wheeler on which she was travelling with her husband, K.H. Balakrishna. When Suma fell off the vehicle, the tipper ran over her killing her on the spot, police said. In another incident, Pooja (6) was knocked down by a goods vehicle on Sanjay Gandhi Nagar Main Road in Peenya 3rd Stage, Industrial Area. The accident occurred when the tempo driver was reversing the vehicle and Pooja, who was on her way to school, was trying to cross the road.
Theft at restaurant
Miscreants reportedly cut open a rolling shutter of Rose Garden Bar and Restaurant on Banaswadi Street in the early hours of Tuesday and took away Rs. 45,000. Police said that 10 employees of the joint, including the cashier, were sleeping inside the restaurant when the burglary occurred.
