Woman's death: husband under investigation

Thiruvananthapuram: The Nemom police are investigating a 39-year-old man in connection with the death of his wife, Mini, 33. The accused was identified as Suresh Babu.

Mini was found unconscious inside her house at Pappanamcode on Monday evening. Her husband took the woman to General Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead the same evening. According to the police, the woman had sustained an injury on the rear of her head. There was ligature mark on her neck, indicating hanging. The body was handed over to relatives after a post-mortem examination. Mini's relatives later gave a complaint to the police stating that Suresh Babu was in the habit of physically assaulting Mini after getting drunk.

Assault: two held

The city police on Tuesday arrested two persons in connection with the assault of Maniyan, near Kanjirampara colony, in Vattiyoorkavu police station limits on Monday. According to the police, the arrested were `Ettu' Jayan, 25, and Anil Kumar, 24, of the colony.

Man dead

A 42-year-old man was found dead under `mysterious circumstances' on the road at Kattakkada on Tuesday night. The deceased has been identified as Mohanan Asan, of Kandala, Kattakkada by Medical College authorities.
