Educational staff to go on strike

Special Correspondent

NEYVELI: The functioning of 13 schools and a science college being run by the Jawahar Education Society at Neyveli will be crippled from August 10, as the Society's 600-odd staff have decided to go on strike.

From August 2, they have been staging demonstrations for the indifference meted out to them. They had handed over the 27-point charter of demands to the authorities.

The Society has, under its purview, two schools on the CBSE and matriculation patterns, 11 school annexes, and a Jawahar Science College, with aggregate student strength of over 16,000.

The Society has the CMD of the NLC as its chief patron and the NLC directors as its patrons.
