Special Correspondent
Pondicherry: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam legislators A. Anbalagan and Ohm Sakthi Segar walked out of the Assembly on Wednesday to protest what Mr. Anbalagan called denial of sufficient time to him to speak about important subjects on public grievances. While Mr. Anbalagan was speaking about the police, Public Works Department and a few other departments, Speaker R. Radhakrishnan intervened and said he was exceeding the time limit allotted to him. The Speaker said there were other members waiting to speak and the replies from the Government were also to be presented. Hence, he asked Mr. Anbalagan to conclude. Mr. Anbalagan said when he had to deal with 11 departments, time should not be restricted to 10 or 15 minutes. The Speaker said he had taken more time than permitted and invited Leader of the Opposition A.M.H. Nazim to speak. Irked by this, Mr. Anbalagan and his party colleague Ohm Sakthi Segar staged a walkout. They, however, returned to the House to participate in the Assembly proceedings.
