COLOMBO: Sri Lanka will release a postage stamp in the denomination of Rs. 10 (Sri Lanka) on Thursday in commemoration of the former Foreign Minister, Lakshman Kadirgamar, who was assassinated on August 12 last year. Designed by Vasantha Srinath Kurukulasooriya, the official first day cancellation of the stamp will take place at the Sri Lanka Institute of International Studies. Separately, the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS), along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will conduct the first Lakshman Kadirgamar memorial lecture on Thursday. The first memorial lecture titled "India and Sri Lanka: Friends and Neighbours" will be delivered by Karan Singh, president of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Sri Lanka Foreign Minister, Mangala Samaraweera will chair the meeting.
