`Coastal hartal'

KOCHI: Kerala Fisheries Coordination Committee has called for a `coastal hartal' on Thursday. It will be held from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. A convention was held here as part of the protest against the extension of trawling ban. - Staff Reporter

KOCHI: A.Vijayakumar, faculty of Department of Mathematics at Cochin University of Science and Technology, has been nominated by the National Board of Higher Mathematics as a member of the Indian team for the International Congress of Mathematicians to be held in Madrid from August 22 to 30.

Call to ban pan masala

KOCHI: Kerala Catholic Youth Movement (KCYM) has requested the Government to ban pan masala in the State. A press release issued by KCYM welcomed the Government decision to ban colas.
