Free eye camp tomorrow

Tri-ward residents' federation formed

Residents of Ward Nos. 96, 97 and 98 coming under Jayamahal Assembly constituency have formed a tri-ward welfare federation to address residents' grievances. While G.K. Reddy (ph: 23430142) was elected president of the federation, M.S. Gunasheelan (ph: 23339657) and K. Prahlad (ph: 23333083) were elected vice-president and secretary respectively.

Graduation day

Rajendra Kumar Khare, managing director of Broadcom India Pvt. Ltd., said the Association of People with Disabilities is helping the disabled by creating opportunities for them. He was speaking at the graduation day ceremony here on Wednesday. He appreciated the work done for different age groups of children and adults with disabilities. He distributed certificates to the trainees of the fifth batch of students of Advanced Diploma in Computer Applications.

Essay writing

Swami Vivekananda Educational Society will conduct an essay writing competition for high school children on August 13 between 9.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. at seven centres in the city. The society has been organising the competition for 39 years. Students can write either in Kannada or English on "Samanvacharya Sri Ramakrishna" or "Bhaktha Prahlada." The centres are Swamy Vivekananda High School, behind PES College, 3rd Cross, Banashankari I Stage; Women's Peace League, Shankarapuram; Kamala Nehru Educational Institution, South End Road, Basavanagudi; Vidyavardhaka Sangha High School, Rajajinagar; Acharya Pathashala Boys' High School, NR Colony; Nivedita School, I Cross, Gavipuram and Sri Vani Vidya Kendra, 4th B Main, WOC Road III Stage, Basaveshwaranagar. Participants should come with a letter from the head of their institution. Even spot registration is accepted.
