NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his elder brother several times at Sangam Vihar in South Delhi on March 9 has been arrested by the South Delhi police. The accused was apparently angry with his brother who was not paying enough attention towards the deteriorating health of their mother. According to the police, Deepchand, a resident of D-Block Sangam Vihar, was admitted to hospital with multiple stab wounds. He later told the police that his brother, Satbir, had stabbed him. A hunt was launched for Satbir who was finally arrested at Sangam Vihar this past Monday. During interrogation, Satbir allegedly told the police that he was very close to his mother who was suffering from a serious disease for the past few years. However, he felt that his father and his elder brother were not making adequate efforts for her treatment. He raised the matter several times but to no avail. Satbir then decided to kill his brother. On the fateful night, he slept with Deepchand in the same room. When Deepchand fell asleep, Satbir allegedly stabbed him about 10 times and then fled. Meanwhile, his mother's health continued to deteriorate and she died a couple of months ago.
