Timely act

When three girl students of engineering sustained acid burns on Thursday near Mary Sargent Girls' Higher Secondary School, Palayamkottai, clothes of one of the victims started even burning. Immediately, some women teachers from the school came to the spot, took her inside the school premises, extinguished the acid fumes with water, provided a new dress and rushed her to a nearby hospital, all within a few minutes.

As the victim was rushed to the hospital within the shortest possible duration, timely medical assistance could be provided.
