Postpone disciplinary panel meet, BCCI told
Kolkata
: A city court on Thursday directed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to postpone till August 22 its disciplinary committee meeting in Chennai on August 15 where Cricket Association of Bengal president Jagmohan Dalmiya was to appear in connection with the PILCOM accounts issue.
City Civil Court Chief Judge P. K. Sarkar issued the directive after Mr. Dalmiya moved the court, challenging the BCCI's summons to him to appear before the committee on August 15. The matter is due to come up for hearing on August 22.
Mr. Dalmiya's counsel Gitanath Ganguly said the summons was against the principle of natural justice.
Earlier, Mr. Dalmiya challenged the BCCI's notice, claiming that the previous summons to appear on July 26 had been challenged by him before the court and during pendancy of the petition, the Board could not issue fresh summons. PTI
