Actuaries Bill gets Parliament nod

NEW DELHI: Parliament on Thursday passed a bill to regulate and develop the profession of actuaries in India with the Rajya Sabha approving it by a voice vote. Replying to a brief debate, Minister of State for Finance P. K. Bansal said the Government favoured increasing the ceiling on foreign equity investment in insurance companies to 49 per cent from 26 per cent.
