Sensex ends flat
MUMBAI:
Resisting mid-session selling pressure, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex on Thursday ended flat in volatile trading, however, well-supported by fairly heavy foreign institutional investment inflows and noticeable bull support.
The BSE 30-share sensitive index closed at 11149.17 against Wednesday's close of 11145.18, a net gain of 3.99 points.
The Sensex dipped to a low of 11051.75 after initially touching an intra-day high of 11213.03, largely due to continued selling pressure from domestic mutual funds, which were net sellers for the last couple of days.
On the National Stock Exchange, the S&P CNX Nifty edged up by 5.50 points to 3260.10. PTI
