BANGALORE: The Deccan Herald Super Division hockey tournament will be conducted at the KSHA stadium here from August 28 to September 21, with 12 teams in the fray. Holder BPCL, runner-up IOCL and the third placed Namadhari XI from last year's tournament will gain the top seedings. This year the State Association is all set crack down on discipline. Last year the tournament was marred by ugly clashes and on field disputes but KSHA has sought the services of seven outstation umpires, some of whom have international experience to help conduct the tournament. In addition to theses umpires there will also be the regular KSHA umpires who officiate regularly at the local tournaments. Some of the matches are to be video taped and apart from levying fines, the association also plans to strictly impose suspensions on errant players.
