Capturing myriad hues of existence

THE COLOURS OF LIFE: A painting by T.Vaikuntam.

Art Konsult is hosting an eclectic show that creatively captures the myriad hues of existence at Gallery No. 7 and 8 of Lalit Kala Akademi here.

Titled "Full Circle", the fortnight-long show is seeing the participation of talented young and established artists and will continue till August 13.

Life comes a proverbial full circle as the show depicts varied emotions ranging from pathos to peace, sorrow to happiness and turmoil to awakening.

Presenting a true picture of inner conflict in the changing phases of life, "Full Circle" captures growth, evolution of the soul and how the circle of life moves and ultimately falls to the maturity level where the universal man completes his full circle of life.

"Full Circle" showcases works of Paritosh Sen, Paramjeet Singh, Arpita Singh, Ram Kumar, F. N. Souza, Nataraj Sharma, Prashanta Kalita, Justin Ponmany, Farhad Hussain, Manil Gupta, Arindam Chatterjee, Ruchin Soni, Sharmi Chowdhury, M. Pravat and Banoj Mohanty, Vivan Sundaram, T. Vaikuntam and Laxma Goud.

Besides capturing the full spectrum of "contemporary" expressions, the show speaks through the language of art, creating an eclectic rhetoric that would play a role not only on the surface of the images but also within their conceptual understanding. These paintings have explored the various layers of life.

According to curator Bhavna Kakar, "Full Circle" presents the vibrant colours of life, the constant inner politics of human relationships and changing phases of life.

These paintings have been brought to life from day-to-day visual experience presented with a touch of humour and sarcasm.

The works are absolutely different both structurally and conceptually, she said. -- Madhur Tankha
