Rajiv Gruha Kalpa houses to be ready by October

Kakinada: The first phase of Rajiv Gruha Kalpa houses now under construction in the dairy farm area here will be ready by October, according to R.V.V. Satyanarayana, District Manager-Housing. Some 8,088 houses were sanctioned for the district under the scheme of which 1,560 were nearing completion in the dairy farm area, 552 houses on the Beach road and 192 in Indira Nagar.

Another 1,000 houses would come up shortly at Ramanaiahpet.

He said that 3,000 houses were expected to be commissioned during January next in the second phase. As against Rs. 60 crores to be paid to contractors towards cost of construction, the bankers released Rs.10 crores so far, he said.

Stating that the scheme was of great help to low income groups, he said all the sanctioned houses were given allotments at the construction stage itself.
