Travel, tourism mart opens today

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: A three-day international travel and tourism mart would open here on Friday showcasing both the favoured and unexplored destinations. The event, organized by the India Travel Mart, has Rajasthan as the host State, Uttranchal as the partner and Dubai and Malaysia as partner countries.

According to Ajay Gupta, director, ITM, international tourism organizations and various Indian States, besides Indian Railways, leading hotels, resorts, travel agencies and tour operators would participate in the mart displaying their destinations, packages and related services. The highlights would be pilgrimage tourism, adventure tourism, eco-tourism, health tourism and wildlife destinations, he said.

"The basic purpose of holding the event is to boost tourism awareness worldwide. We believe that inflow of domestic and outbound tourists would increase in the coming months and Rajasthan will play a vital role in it," Mr. Gupta stated.
