`Declare Channarayapatna taluk drought-hit'

HASSAN: The Channarayapatna Taluk Panchayat had resolved unanimously to urge the Government to declare the taluk as drought-hit in the general body meeting held on Wednesday. It decided to convince the Government that farmers in the taluk were frustrated owing to the failure of monsoon in the area from the past 45 days. When panchayat president Shyamala tabled the

resolution members cutting across party line supported the decision and instructed the Assistant Director of Agriculture to send a report in this regard to the Government.
