Airtel's "budget-plan" for prepaid customers

Chennai: Airtel has come out with a new "budget-plan" for prepaid customers in Tamil Nadu to mark Independence Day.

As part of the plan, calls from Airtel mobile to another Airtel mobile in Tamil Nadu would cost 60 paise per minute. Local calls to other GSM mobiles or Airtel landlines will be charged Re. 1 per minute. STD calls to Airtel will cost Rs. 2 per minute and to other phones Rs. 2.40 per minute.

Users are also entitled to 100 free local SMS per day, according to P. Swaminathan, CEO (Mobility) of Bharti Airtel in Chennai and Tamil Nadu.
