Girl power in SCB
The final word is hooray. E. Manjula Reddy, who on Monday became the first woman member of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board in at least the last 35 years, had to endure a few nail-biting moments on counting day before she could finally savour the rare moment.
But now, all that's over and Ms. Reddy is enjoying the attention she is drawing while travelling on open-top jeeps and in front of convoys through the Lashkar. With talk that she might gun for the Cantonment Board's vice-president post as well, this Telangana campaigner seems to be setting her sights on one more first.
