Flat burgled

Thieves made away with gold and cash, all worth Rs. 2 lakhs, after breaking into a flat at Mallikarjunanagar in Vanasthalipuram on Wednesday night. The flat owner, an RTC employee, and his family member went to see off a relative leaving abroad on Wednesday evening. They returned home on Thursday morning and found the apartment burgled.

Valuables stolen

Burglars took away Rs. 40,000, 20 tolas of gold and 20 tolas of silver from a lathe machine operator's house in Shivarampally in Rajendranagar on Wednesday night. The same gang broke into five other houses in the locality. "All these were single-room houses belonging to labourers and no property was lost," the Rajendranagar police said. Owner of the house, D. Srinivas, went out to attend a function on Wednesday evening.

Baby's body found

The body of a new-born baby girl was found in a nala at Mallikarjunanagar of Chintal in Jeedimetla police station area on Thursday. Local people alerted the police after noticing the body lying in the nala.
