Labourer who intervenes in a tiff dies after being hit by a log
|
HYDERABAD:
Intervention in an argument between two cousins proved fatal for a labourer, when one of them grabbed a log and hit him on his head with it at Hussainialam in the early hours of Thursday.
The victim, Kashinath, 35, a resident of Tara Maidan Colony, tried to intervene when his co-worker and neighbour Devidas was chiding the latter's cousin Vijay for whiling away time and coming home late even on Rakshabandhan day.
"We're told both Kashinath and Devidas were drunk. Kashinanth tried to pacify Devidas not to scold Vijay on the festival day," Charminar ACP B. Reddenna said. Angered at this, Devidas picked up a log and allegedly hit him.
Accused absconding
Kashinath, who sustained a bleeding injury, collapsed and was rushed to Osmania Hospital where he died while being treated. Police said Devidas is absconding.
