SEBI suspends Credit Suisse First Boston

MUMBAI:
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Friday suspended for one month the certification of registration of Credit Suisse First Boston (India) Securities Private Ltd (CSFB), the Indian arm of the global broking firm, on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), in the matter of its dealings in the scrip of South East Asia Marine Engineering and Constructions Ltd (SEAMECL).
However, this order would come into effect after 21 days from the date of this order, which was passed by G. Anantharaman, Whole-time Member, SEBI, on Thursday.
The enquiry of SEBI was on the price movement of South Asia Marine Engineering and Construction from Rs. 15 to Rs. 389 within eight months.
Two DPs suspended
In the matter of DSQ Software Ltd., SEBI has suspended the certificate of registration of Induslnd Bank Ltd. and Integrated Enterprises (India) Ltd., depository participants (DPs) of National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), for 15 days from August 31 to September 14 for failing to comply with circulars issued by SEBI and NSDL.
