Campaign to select youth icon

KOCHI: Young Indians, a part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), has come up with a campaign to select the youth icon of Kerala.

The candidates short listed for the title include Sreesanth (Cricket); I.M. Vijayan (Football); P.T. Usha (Sports); Gopinath Muthukad (Art and Culture); Dileep (Film); Nandakumar (Business); K.S. Chitra (Music); K.B. Ganesh Kumar (Politics) and T.K. Jose (Service).

The youth icon will be selected through a SMS poll, Rajeev Nair, Chapter chair of the Young Indians, Kochi, said on Friday. Messages have to be forwarded to 123. A youth award nite will be held at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium on September 17. The campaign for selecting the youth icon will start on August 15.
