Facile win for Pradeep

HYDERABAD: T.N. Pradeep defeated Anwar Sadat 56-52, 59-51, 54-33 in the preliminary round of snooker in the FMC Open billiards and snooker championship held at FMC here on Friday.

Big win for Don Bosco

Don Bosco HS blanked Mahbubia HS 4-0 in the Sachdev Sports inter-school football tournament, organised by the Shastri Soccer Club. Maqsood, Rahul Thapa, Marion George and Nagapraveen were the scorers.

In another match, Army School scored a solitary goal win over St. Mary's School with Vikramaditya Barua finding the net.

SBI scores easy win

State Bank of India defeated Accountant General (AP) 4-1 in the A-1 division hockey league championship.

SBI took the lead in the 12th minute through Gyan Chand. Soon, Nagaraj increased the lead. In the second half, Gyanchand scored again. Though AGAP reduced the margin in the 46th minute through Dara Singh, SBI regained its three-goal lead thanks to Surender Singh.

Good knock by Charan

Charan's 72 helped JBREC score an eight-wicket win over CFRIT in the third Bandari Srinivas inter-engineering colleges cricket tournament in Chevella near here.

Kiran Keerti 45) lost to Lord's IT 75 for one; CFRIT 114 for five (Gopi 40) lost to JBREC 116 for two (Charan 72); JBIT 102 for four (Srikant 41, Saket 34) bt Mahaveer IT 96 for five (Adnan 40); Lord's IT 89 for three (Prabhu Charan 33) lost to Holy Mary IT 90 for five.

Easy win for Sai

K. Sai Siddarth defeated M. Siddarth 6-0 in the first round of the boys' under-14 section of the Ranga Reddy District Lawn Tennis Association sub-junior tournament at Sports Coaching Foundation (Masab Tank) here.

Boxing tournament

The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh will organise the Independence Cup one-day boxing championship for seniors at Fateh Maidan Indoor Stadium on August 15.
