MUMBAI: Javagal Srinath feels Sourav Ganguly needs to be told where he stands in connection with India's World Cup plans. "This cat-and-mouse game has to stop. Somebody has to tell Ganguly where he stands. If Ganguly is supposed to be part of World Cup plans, he should be told. Similarly, if he isn't going to be considered for World Cup, it should be made clear to him." The former India pace bowler, currently a match referee on the ICC panel, said in `Straight Drive,' a programme on the Ten Sports channel, moderated by ex-India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar. India leg-spinner and commentator L. Sivaramakrishnan and cricket writer Ayaz Memon were others on the discussion panel. About Sachin's comeback he said: "Sachin can walk into the side. For someone coming back to the game after six months, he is going to be a bit rusty, so giving him chances is important," said the former India opening bowler. About Kumble's absence from the one-day squad, Srinath said: His presence is important and even if not played in all games, he has to be given a task, like grooming young bowlers for example. Anil knows enough about fast bowling, apart from being a master spinner." He, Manjrekar and Sivaramakrishnan felt Sri Lanka would be a tough opponent at home.
