THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Petty cases were registered against 506 persons during a city wide combing operation carried out on Friday. According to the police, the combing operation was held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. While cases were registered against 347 persons for not having the requisite documents on their vehicles, 104 `general petty' cases were also charged. As many as 24 persons, against whom warrants were pending, were arrested. 21 were arrested for drunken driving. Eight cases were charged under the Abkari Act and two under the prevention of immoral traffic act. The combing operation also covered 68 lodges in the city.
