Coimbatore: Over 150 former students of the 1981 batch of PSG College of Technology will be back at their college from August 13 to 15 - this time along with their families - for the Silver Jubilee reunion. G. Chandramohan, Convenor, told reporters recently that the former students and their partners and children would stay in the G3 hostel and relive memories of college days. "So far a total of 153 out of 202 have registered and a few more are likely to register during the next two days," observed Prof. Chandramohan, one of the alumni who now teach at the institution. "Our success in getting such a large number of registrations is mainly the result of our website www.psgtech81.org, where registration can be done online. It has a photo gallery, message board, news about alumni and also facilities for booking accommodation." On Sunday morning, the alumni will tour the campus and see for themselves the changes and additions since the time they graduated. After tributes to the memory of late educationist G. R. Damodaran at his samadhi, the alumni would sit for a family introduction session. C. R. Swaminathan, Chief Executive, PSG Institutions, would inaugurate a Communication Skills Development Centre, which had been partly funded by the 1981 batch. R. Rudramoorthy, Principal of the college, would preside over the function. The alumni would be sponsoring hardware and software for the development centre. PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research would conduct a medical check up for the alumni. Sports events and a music programme by the college troupe would be the other highlights of the first day of the celebrations. On Monday and Tuesday, the alumni and their families would spend time at Udhagamandalam and go on a sight seeing trip in the hill station. Over 30 of the 1981 batch are entrepreneurs, four are college principals and three are professors at PSG College of Technology.
