Extend plastic ban to panchayats: KSSP

`Authorities should take steps to educate the public'

KOZHIKODE : The Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad while lauding the decision of the Kozhikode Corporation to ban plastics below certain specifications in the Corporation limits has suggested that the step be extended to all grama panchayats in the district. In a statement on Friday, KSSP Kozhikode district president Mohanan Manalil and secretary T.P. Sreedharan wanted the authorities to consider the matter.

The authorities should also take steps to educate the public on the pollution created through plastic, it said.
