KURNOOL: Collector M. Dana Kishore called upon teachers to work for securing 100 per cent result in their schools. Addressing the anniversary function of district headmasters and physical education teachers here on Saturday, he said the teachers and headmasters should prepare action plans to secure the best result in individual subjects as well as overall pass.

He said 69 schools, which secured 80 per cent and above result last year were selected for 100 per cent result programme this year. Hostel accommodation would be provided to the schools wherever possible. Also, the schools were authorised to appoint volunteers in order to have teachers for all subjects and for conducting tutorials.

Saying that education alone would be able to bring about transformation in society, he wanted teachers to treat it as a mission.

He said 38,000 children were working as agriculture labourers in a district, which had produced national level leaders.

Kurnool district was in the 13th position in SSC result, which needed to be pushed up, he said.

Referring to the high rate of illiteracy, he said the district with irrigation facility to 5 lakh acres should have progressed on all fronts.
