CHENNAI: Increased level of participation, particularly in tennis and table tennis events form the highlight of this year's Bertram tournaments of the Loyola College which commence on Independence day. The programme this time starts with the table tennis event, said Fr. Albert Muthumalai, Principal, Loyola College, at a press meet on Saturday. As compared to 70 teams last year in the table tennis singles event there were 90 this year. In doubles too the number had gone up from 21 to 42, he said. Apart from table tennis, the other disciplines were chess, ball badminton, volleyball, tennis and basketball. In all, over 1500 participants will feature in this year's various competitions.
