BANGALORE: STC, Kollam, won the title in the South Zone SAI inter-hostel football tournament with a 7-6 win over Chennai via sudden death in the final here on Saturday. The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the regulation time with Oscar scoring for Kollam in the 55th minute and Jayasheelan equalising for Chennai in the 65th. In the tie-breaker, the teams were again locked at 4-4. Elangovan, Pradeep, Vinod Kumar and Vetrivelu scored for Chennai, while Kannan, Oscar, Andrew and Riyadh struck for Kollam. This was followed by sudden death. Shabhir and Sharath converted their kicks for Kollam, while only Jayasheelan netted for Chennai. Pughazhendi missed the mark, thus leaving Kollam the winner.
