KURNOOL: The All-India Students Federation (AISF) celebrated the 70th anniversary here on Saturday. Communist Party of India (CPI) district secretary P. Bhimlingappa formally hoisted the flag and addressed the participants. He called upon the AISF activists to launch struggles in order to ensure the establishment of just and fair society. He said the AISF should draw inspiration from the role it played during the freedom struggle. He said AISF should fight against commercialisation of education, which was detrimental to the interests of the weaker sections. Later, CPI city secretary and former AISF leader K. Jagannatham took part in the celebrations at PG centre. The AISF pledged to fight for upgrading the PG centre to an independent university. AISF leaders Lenin, Muneppa, Veenanna, Venkata Narayana and others were present.
