HYDERABAD: A brand new intensive care unit along with a host of advanced equipment was inaugurated at the plastic surgery and burns department of Gandhi Hospital here on Saturday. Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav formally unveiled the new facilities in the presence of Department head D. Mohan Krishna, Hospital Superintendent B. Balraj, Gandhi Medical College Principal A.Y. Chary and others. The three-bed ICU and eight medical devices that were installed along with the unit were purchased at Rs.13.23 lakhs, donated by Mr. Yadav from MPLADS fund. Speaking on the occasion, he expressed his readiness to help the hospital whenever in need.Commending the hospital and the plastic surgery department for its service-oriented approach , the parliamentarian said the newly-added facilities would now make medical treatment options affordable to the poor. Dr. Krishnamade a presentation on the department's activities. Local corporator M. Kalavathi was also present.
