Commodity prices

The following were the prices (in Rs.per kg) of essential commodities in the local wholesale market on Saturday, according to Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Groundnut oil - 56, palmolein oil- 49, sunflower oil - 55, tamarind (flower variety) - 28 to 39, tamarind - 43 to 49, chillies- (new) 35 to 49, rice (2716)-14, rice (super fine)-15, rice (sona masoori)-18 to 19, rice (samba masoori)- 16, black gram-45 and red gram-23.50 to 28.75.

Blood donation camp

A blood donation camp was organised by the Nalanda degree college national service scheme (NSS) volunteers at the college today. Vijayawada West MLA Sk.Nazarvali and sub-collector Bhanu Prasad inaugurated the camp. College principal P.C.S.Reddy, Acharya Nagarjuna University NSS coordinator Vijaya Ratnam, Rotary-Red Cross president Rama Rao and college NSS programme officer M.Hari Prasad participated.
