College to organise seminar on IT

GUNTUR: The Tellakula Jalayya Polisetty Somasundaram College will organise a national seminar on `Information Technology and changing business paradigm' on August 28 and 29.

Topics

It would focus on transformation taking place in manufacturing enterprise, business and service organisations through the use of IT tools, potential for widening the base for their application to improve productivity.

Some of the topics to be discussed are: Enterprise Resource Planning, Supply chain management, customer relationship management, IT enabled services, Business Process Outsourcing, and E-commerce and Internet Related Applications, college principal C. Mahatma Gandhi College here will formally open two new science courses in its post-graduate programme on Sunday. College principal DAR Subrahmanyam said in a release that Minister for Cooperation Kanna Lakshmi Narayana and Acharya Nagarjuna University Vice-Chancellor V. Balamohandas will open the M.Sc. (Chemistry) and M.Sc. (Botany) courses on the college premises.

Students Federation of India Guntur district unit on Saturday released posters for the Hostels Rakshana Yatra to be taken up by its members from August 15 to September 2.

SFI activists would take out a cycle rally visiting all hostels in the district trying to find out the problems of students living there.

After getting the feedback from students, SFI would chart out agitation programme, said SFI office-bearer B. Lakshmana Rao.
