Man killed in property dispute

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Two brothers murdered their childless uncle at Chintalbasti after Friday midnight, angered over the latter's attempt to sell his 100 sq.yd. plot worth Rs. 20 lakhs.

Families of the accused youngsters Ranjeet and Surjeet and their uncle Chandrakanth lived next door to each other at Premnagar in Punjagutta. They hoped to inherit Chandrakanth's house since the latter had no children, but bore grudge against him as he put his house for sale recently, Punjagutta Sub-Inspector Ranga Reddy said.

A small-time realtor, Chandrakanth reportedly struck a deal with a person to sell his house for Rs. 20 lakhs. Sometime after midnight, the two brothers, their mother Varalakshmi and aunt Parvati broke open the doors, barged inside and picked up an argument with the realtor, the SI said. In a fit of rage, the youngsters picked up knives and stabbed Chandrakanth.

All the four accused persons are still at large.
