HYDERABAD: With the High Court allowing immersion of Ganesh idols in Hussainsagar with certain conditions, the State Government's focus is back on arrangements for the Ganesh Chavithi festival. Home Minister K. Jana Reddy reviewed the arrangements with people's representatives, NGOs and officials of 21 departments at Jubilee Hall here on Saturday. Making it clear that an all-party meeting will be convened again to discuss the measures to be taken for next year's immersion, in the light of the High Court's direction not to allow pollution of Hussainsagar, Mr. Reddy said for this year the Government submitted an affidavit reflecting public sentiments and also its responsibility towards environment. Mr. Reddy said measures will be taken to make more cranes available near the immersion ghats for speedy immersion of idols and to double the duration of drinking water supply on September 6, the Nimajjanam day. Minister for Information and Public Relations Mohd.Ali Shabbir, BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya, MLAs P. Janardhan Reddy, M. Shashidhar Reddy, N. Narasimha Reddy, Mulreddy Ranga Reddy, G. Kishan Reddy, MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav committee members Pullareddy, Narasimha Rao, former MLA Ramasway, Collector Chandravadan and Police Commissioner A.K. Mohanty were present.
