KOCHI: The Navigation Direction School of the Indian Navy celebrated its 54th anniversary at the Naval Base here on Saturday. Established in 1952, the school provides basic and advanced training in the fields of navigation, operations and aircraft direction to officers and sailors of the Navy, Coast Guard, friendly foreign navies and other security agencies. The school is equipped with many state-of-the-art simulators and a variety of modern training equipment, including a mini-planetarium. Commodore Arun Nayar, senior-most ND officer at Kochi, was the chief guest at the anniversary celebrations.
