Two students killed in road accident

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Two students were killed in a road accident in Malleswaram police station limits on Friday.

The police said that around 8.30 p.m. Subramanya (20) and Munikrishna (18), who were riding a motorcycle, dashed against a road median near Mohammedan Block bridge as the vehicle skidded following heavy rain in the area. As the two fell on the road, a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus (route number 68) bound for Shivajinagar from Basaveshwaranagar ran over them.

Subramanya died on the way to a hospital and Munikrishna breathed his last at NIMHANS, the police said. While Subramanya was a second year B.Com student, Munikrishna was a diploma student. Both were residents of Kamalanagar and they were on their way home when the accident occurred.

The Malleswaram traffic police have registered a case and seized the bus.
