KOTTAYAM: The year-long centenary celebrations being organised in connection with the 100th birth anniversary of P. Krishna Pillai, one of the founders of Communist movement in Kerala, will get under way at his ancestral village, Vaikom, on August 19.
Minister for Forests Benoy Viswom will inaugurate the seminar on `Traditional Industries and Kerala's Development.' MLA V.N. Vasavan will preside. Sukumar Azhikode, critic, will inaugurate an exhibition, `Sakhaavinte Lokam, 'on P. Krishna Pillai in the evening.
