Maanmark to meet Armed Police

DINDIGUL: Maanmark Basketball Club, Madurai, and Armed Police, Chennai, will clash for the title in the Ravi Memorial Trophy State-level open basketball tournament organised by Rotary Club of Dindigul West and M.S.P. Solai Nadar Matriculation HSS here.

The results (Semifinals): Maanmark BC 74 (Ganesh Prabu 21, Gajendran 20, Adhi Ganesh 13) bt Sithu BC 40 (Raphael Dennis 18, Santhanakrishnan 14); Armed Police 77 (Rajendran 26, Chandramohan 23, Lokeshkumar 12) bt AND BA 32 (Sriram 10).

Double for Chennai

Chennai and Thiruvalluvar bagged a double each by winning two team events each in the State sub-junior fencing championship organised by Virudhunagar District Fencing Association and Sri Kaliswari College at Sivakasi.

The results (all finals): Boys: Foil: Thiruvallur bt Chennai 15-10 (G. Balaji bt M.T. Ashwin 5-2; C. Saravanarajan bt G. Dinesh Subramanian 5-2; P. Irfanshicle lost to V. Nithin 6).

Sabre: Salem bt Madurai 15-11 (R. Vinoth lost to C. Shanmuga Prabu 4-5; V. Sanathkumar bt J. Frederick 6-3; V. Sanathkumar bt R. Harishkumar 5-3).

Epee: Chennai Salem 12-11 (G. Dinesh Subramanian lost to R. Vishnu Prasath 4-5; K.S. Syed lost to M. Sabarinath 5; K. Nithin bt R. Srinivash 5-1).

Girls: Foil: Chennai bt Thiruvallur 15-12 (J. Pavithra bt P. Vaishali 5-5; P. Kalaiselvi) bt J. Jesintha Prabha 5-4; C.A. Bhavani bt A. Apsara 5-4).
