Badal demands economic concessions

Jalandhar: Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) president Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday reiterated his demand for package of tax rebate and other economic concessions for Punjab at par with Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

Talking to reporters in Nurmahal town near here, Mr Badal said the State was ``feeling neglected and discriminated.''

He said that the grant of package to the neighbouring State of Himachal Pradesh had an adverse impact on industrialisation in Punjab as several industries had shifted to the hll State. ``The extension in the package time limit meant further damage to our industry'', he added. UNI
