NALGONDA: Police arrested a pseudo naxalite and his accomplice at Suryapet in Nalgonda. According to police, the two Battula Lakshmi Narasaiah and Battu Sudarshan hired a car from Hyderabad and went to a Reliance petrol bunk at Durajpally in Chivvemla mandal in the guise of travellers in the early hours of August 9. After filling the tank, they entered the office room and forcibly took away Rs. 10,000 from the supervisor Ch. Prabhakar and another Rs. 5,000 from the salesman Nagaraju at a gunpoint. Lakshmi Narasaiah tried to break open the cash chest. "He hit the locker with an iron rod. When it developed a big crack, he put in his hand by force to open the locker. Eventually he injured his hand and could not pull it out from the chest," inspector M. Tirupatanna said. Taking advantage of the situation, the two employees ran out of the room and bolted it from outside. "Startled by this, Narasaiah broke open the glass door and got into the car," he added. His accomplice gave him Rs. 4,000 and asked him to get treated in a hospital in Suryapet and left. A police team during its routine checking came across the injured `naxal' and took him into its custody in the early hours of Wednesday. Following interrogation his accomplice and the driver were arrested. Police recovered an Indica car and Rs.10, 000 cash from their possession. Mr. Tirupatanna told The Hindu a hunt was on to nab six more members of the same gang that was involved in looting of petrol bunks at Toopran, Kamareddy, Huzurabad, Kompelle and Cyberabad.
